The survey results were intriguing, with 85% of participants believing that Black Friday discounts are not real, while only 15% considered them genuine.

In clarifying their responses, some participants noted that they had monitored products they needed before the start of Black Friday discounts and observed that prices before Black Friday were lower than the usual prices during the event. It's important to note that these experiences are individual and may not reflect the overall situation.

Naming of Black Friday:

The name Black Friday dates back to the 19th century, associated with the 1869 financial crisis in the United States, which dealt a major blow to the American economy. It caused a significant economic downturn, and to recover, various measures were taken, including substantial discounts on goods and products to sell them instead of letting them go to waste. Since then, it has become a tradition in America for major stores and agencies to offer significant discounts on their products, reaching up to 90% of their value, only to return to their normal prices after Black Friday or the special month ends. Although Black Friday is known by this name in Western countries, it is called White Friday in Arab countries due to the religious significance of Friday for Muslims. Traders prepare for this day by announcing discounts that attract customers.

The name refers to the significant traffic congestion in Philadelphia, where the police administration gave it this name due to the intense shopping desire on that day. Another reason for using the term "black" is related to the use of black ink in the American daily profit and loss ledger after the shopping day, where black ink symbolizes profits and red ink symbolizes losses. Shoppers flock to online stores in search of exceptional deals on this exceptional day.


 

Despite some stores offering genuine discount coupons that many people benefit from, some viewers have noticed that some discount coupons offered were added to the original price. As a result, customers buy at a slight discount that does not justify the significant hype.

Some buyers have confirmed that the Black Friday experience varies from one country to another, so there is no real answer to this question. We recommend shopping cautiously, monitoring the products you need, checking for yourself whether prices actually increase during Black Friday, and whether coupons are based on this increase.
